I grew up in a military household, both my father and my mother served our country, in the Korean and Vietnam war eras. I graduated from high school in 1976 and continued my education at a junior college on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. I obtained a certificate in Executive Secretarial studies. I joined the US Marine Corps in 1977. After boot camp on Parris Island, I was stationed in Norfolk, VA. I was the social secretary to a 3-star general who was in charge of all the Marines on the East Coast of the US. I met another Marine and married him in 1978. After both our discharges, we settled down in Pottstown.
I’m passionate about volunteering to help other Veterans and keep our causes on the minds of local residents. I’m part of several veterans organizations including the Veterans’ Island Project, Women Marines Association, Pottstown Joint Veterans Council, American Legion Post 244 to name a few. I have 2 children and 4 grandchildren. My hobbies include reading, traveling, and spending time with my family.
