Cathy was raised in the East End of Pottstown and attended St. Peter’s R.C. Church and St. Pius X High School. She began her career as a dental assistant, a role she held for ten years, before stepping away to raise her family and later returning to the workforce as a picture framer and artist.
A lifelong advocate for the arts and her community, Cathy co-founded ArtFusion (formerly the Gallery School of Pottstown) in 2004, and for over a decade helped to establish it as a vibrant creative hub.
Recognizing the need for long-term stewardship of the island’s memorials and the opportunity to develop it as a regional destination, Cathy partnered with the Parks & Recreation Department to establish the Veterans’ Island Project at Memorial Park. In 2016, she founded the organization and served as its first president, driven by a deep commitment to honoring and preserving the legacy of those who served.
